A late strike from Simon Hackeny kept Carlisle United at the top of League Two. Drewe Broughton handed Rushden & Diamonds a relegation lifeline with a winning goal against Macclesfiled Town nine minutes from time.
Diamonds had two goals disallowed but Broughton's counted to earn a vital 6/4 win. Stockport County fialed to edge further away from the drop zone after slipping to a 1-0 defeat at home to Stockport County. Julian Joachim's header after 67 minutes for the 11/5 Pilgrims proved decisive. Mansfield Town sent Torquay United to the bottom of the league with a 2-0 win at Plainmoor. On loan Sheffield Wednesday striker Danny Reet broke the deadlock afetr 11 minutes and Simon Brown secured a 19/10 victory with seven minutes remaining.
